I greatly enjoyed how we got to see these characters from new settlements outside of London and how they’ve ordered their lives to survive from the sickos and the other communities. This series is a MUST read! I love Sam and the Kid! In the penultimate book in The Enemy series, the survivors’ stories cross with chilling consequences. There are old friends like Ed, Kyle, Brook and Ella, but also a lot of new ones as this book takes place outside of London namely Slough, Ascort and a farm. Ella and Scarface become friends, but their routine is interrupted by some kids who are running away from an army of grown ups heading towards London.

I don’t really want to give too much way in my review, but what I will say, is that I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone that is reading the series. There is one thing i can say about this character is that she has charie very lucky but my love for my character has become stronger and i DO hope that she can finally get the reunion with sam that they have both being wanting.

This entire series has grown on me so much, and I plan on maybe going back and rereading them all next year, before I read book 7. There’s an almost Hunger Games final part of the book which works well and makes perfect sense in this twisted world. Sam and the Kid escape into the streets, developing a friendship higspn the process. This was a return to form for me. He eventually swells and bursts, which kills him instantly. I’m so glad I waited until I could get the last book in my hot little hands before reading this one, because I knew I wasn’t going to want to wait, and that cliff-hanger did not disappoint.


This book was just so good.

Just when things are good, and reunions happen shit goes down. These kids are 15 at the most and they sound like kids, but they also have experienced a lifetime of pain and huntec.

I should probably be used to jump-scares and gory plot twists hiding around the corner in his books by now, but Charlie Higson is amazing at weaving eerie tension into his stories, and I found myself again jumping at the most horrific bits. If Achilleus wins, the Palace kids will get control over the park and hynted it as farmland.

Lastly, he added a lot of emotional moments in this b0ok Plot First, Ella wakes up and finds her friends dead. So the army of kids set higosn bound for London.

Tish is brought back to the Tower, and is put in the same bunk room as Sam and The Kid. The death is fast, gross and stunning. Higson gives them life on the page in their own style.
